THE SUMMER Sheffield and District Leagues have just begun with Barnsley Tennis Club running ten teams.
The women’s first team beat Grove 4-0 at home, winning 48 games and losing just eight.
The women’s B team beat Brentwood away in a very close match.
The C team defeated visitors Fulwood D 4-0.
The men’s team were edged out 5-4 at Mexborough but there were wins for the B and D teams.
Three mixed teams are yet to start.
